		<description>Good post! I&#039;d just like to add that it is not always necessary to do something about the pests. If your plants are healthy, and you are attracting beneficials, then often you can just ignore the other bugs. Only if you are seeing an unreasonable amount of damage need you fight back. One learns to put up with some holes and blemishes in organic fruit and vegetables, especially those from one&#039;s own garden.

Also, I have found crushed eggshells to work well against slugs. I know some &quot;experts&quot; claim they don&#039;t work, but I&#039;ve used them for years and I know I have plenty of slugs (I live in Oregon -where gardeners consider them the state animal), and they work. They do have to be replenished from time to time, but they&#039;re free (just wash out used shells and let them dry), and they don&#039;t cause the health hazard that the dust from DE does.</description>
