Strawberries definitely need lots of sun as, but don’t let them cook.
I got same wild strawberries from a farm and I replanted them in my garden in the city and they grew like crazzy too!!
its because they generalise that to the temp there they will like either a hot humid shady spot or 70 – 80 degree direct sunlight with avereage humidity so not in a desert but not on the beach
Here they say strawberry likes hot sun. In another video they say strawberries like shade. Which one is it?

You just learned an old gardener’s trick…should Google “companion planting”, to learn what plants grow better when basil grows beside them.
You can plant strawberries from seed but it is difficult…I recommend getting 1 or 2 yr old plants from a nursery that sells virus-free stock (so they don’t die on you from disease). There are many good online nurseries. Best of luck
I have a question: Does every fruit have seeds? Can you plant strawberry seeds instead of a plant?

last year i grew basil thai and i noticed that there were no bugs in the soil were i had grew them in also the earth smelled strong of basil i think i might try to make a bug repelent from this plant i was amazed how clean the soil was totally clean of bugs i had grew them in a planter
