did you put a sheet of metal 24″ deep along the circumference to keep them from taking over the yard? I really suggest it if you haven’t, it would save you headaches.

I have Bamboo (clumping variety) and disagree with the tip to plant in direct sun, they will yellow and scorch like the plant she has, that plant does not look well at all, for Bamboo! Partial shade is best, the plant should be watered well and often, should be green and succulent like a healthy lawn, not yellowed and brittle. You can place them in sun, but water them even more if you do.

Haha 3 weeks, I moved into a house with that bamboo in the back yard, every inch was covered, I moved out 10 yrs. latter and its still there. No matter what we did, burn the soil, dig it up. Don’t plant this unless you want a bamboo forest.

    Lucky Bamboo
    Dracaena sanderiana
Lucky bamboo is happy to grow without soil in a few inches of water. It prefers moderate or indirect light; avoid direct sun which will scorch the leaves.

I put my running bamboos in the ground and loosened up a 7ft diameter circle for rhizome growth. I’m hoping for a nice grove by next year in my backyard
